Arm’s Resurrection

Arm’s Resurrection

Mostly awake
But not my right arm
Limp, dangling, and lifeless
To my great alarm

It flops on my chest
As I finagle my body
Still I feel nothing
As I poke and I proddy

Finally – a tingle
Which soon becomes pain
Blood flows and my nerves
Reconnect with my brain

In my morning routine
God and I find connection
As I start each new day
With my arm’s resurrection

I go through stretches wherein my daily routine is to be seriously concerned, first thing in the morning, that my arm died during my sleep. It’s unnerving (pun intended) to have my feeling be limited only to its weight.
